Surroundings and activities
in the Dolomites
Our house is located along the panoramic walking path of Deutschnofen and is an ideal starting point for excursions and hiking tours. The Eggental valley and the surroundings of the Rosengarten and Latemar mountains are a real hiking paradise for everybody. Some nice walking paths that are not steep and also some alpine hiking paths are especially suited for families with children. More ambitious hikers will find a great number of mountain hiking routes and even via ferrata in the Dolomites. The following attractions are a must in every holiday program:
- Walk to little St.-Helena church in Deutschnofen (first mentioned in the 14th century)
- Hiking tour in Geoparc "Bletterbach Canyon"
- Hiking tour through Gamsstallscharte on Latemar mountain
- Panoramic hiking tour on the Rosengarten mountain
- Scaling the Weißhorn mountain to enjoy a superb view on great parts of South Tyrol

- Theme walking tour in “Latemarium” on 2,200 m above sea level – an education trail in dizzy heights on geology, plants and the fauna of the region
- Free time climbing crag in Obereggen
- Playground and sports field in Deutschnofen with a miniature golf course
Skiing in South Tyrol – Obereggen
In winter the Dolomiti-Superski skiing network, which is connected with the skiing resort Obereggen-Val di Fiemme, offers exciting experiences:
- over 50 km of perfectly prepared slopes
- highly modern ski lifts
- two snow parks with a half pipe
- a children’s park
- a sled run
- night skiing and night sledging on illuminated slopes
Cross-country skiing and sledging in South Tyrol
Fans of the Nordic discipline will find perfectly prepared ski-tracks in Deutschnofen and a big Cross-country skiing centre on the Lavazé mountain pass (about 20 minutes by car). In addition to the perfectly prepared cross country ski tracks you will also be enchanted by the wonderful mountain panorama.
Sledging in South Tyrol
Families can have fun on the 3 sled runs in Deutschnofen and Obereggen. You can choose long or short, steeper or flatter sled runs. In Obereggen you can comfortably reach the starting point of the sled run by gondola lift.
